Re: The Mountain by Karima Hoisan & Dale Innis is OPEN
It was fun and challenging, as usual, to fiddle with scripts to help your ideas into the world! The sim came out great; I've been enjoying running through it when debugging and then just to experience it. A pleasure as always!
Re: Creation
The scripting on this world was, as usual, fun and challenging, with Karima saying "what if we...?" and me replying "sure, that's not hard", or "no, but we can do something like it, like...", or (most often) "hmmm, I'll have to think about that!". It is a notable creation, and it's also about the pr...

Error loading most worlds?
Tonight, for say the last three or four hours, we've been getting a popup saying roughly "Error loading world, try again in a few minutes" for pretty much every world, except the Welcome Center, and my own tiny "Pocket Universe". So, lots of Karima's, and David Denton's main world, and Transgenia, a...

Re: Downloaded RAW terrain files are corrupt?
Don't forget you can code basic terrain operations using OSSL so you could save the data as notecard text inworld and reconstitute it offline. Scratch code: https://www.kitely.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=2408#p22150 Just to follow up, that worked perfectly! My "Riverbottom Smoother" script: // ...

Re: Downloaded RAW terrain files are corrupt?
Yes, RAW file uploads are done over UDP as well. That is why they can easily break if you try to upload a RAW file to a sim that is currently experiencing network load. Have you tried this with different viewers? Viewers sometime differ in how they implement various network-related operations. Is i...

Re: Downloaded RAW terrain files are corrupt?
Ah, an interesting thought! Funny both downloads would be exactly the same size, if that's the problem, but who knows!
I will try the OAR idea.
Is RAW terrain file upload also over UDP with no reliable protocol on top of it? That could be disastrous!

Downloaded RAW terrain files are corrupt?
I tried downloading the RAW file for the terrain of my Kitely sim, and got a file that's 851,968 bytes in size, and no program I've pointed at it has been able to open. Looking at it in a hex editor, it has sequences of 00 00 00 00 FF FF FF FF inserted very often, like every five to nine bytes, vari...

Re: Some objects missing?
Thanks! Yeah, looked in Area Search, and its quite likely someone did it by accident, but we've also search Lost and Founds and things, to no avail. Good to know that you have 10 days worth of daily backups, though, for next time! (Is it possible to restore a backup to a temporary extra world / sim,...

Some objects missing?
We have just noticed that the large firetower, and perhaps some of the trees that used to be around its base, but not the ladders and platforms and things around and on top of it, on the Hudson Line sim have disappeared. Not sure when, it could have been some time ago. The main object is/was "Power ...
