I've been copying the basic structure to start to make the grid of stations. The starsphere can be added once the final version is agreed.

Thanks, Ada.

Would anyone like to help check that the stations are at the correct heights? Here's a way to do this.

First, start at any of the level 1 stations:
hop://osgrid.kitely.com:8002/Vertex/224/30/81
hop://osgrid.kitely.com:8002/Vertex/224/224/81
hop://osgrid.kitely.com:8002/Vertex/30/30/81
hop://osgrid.kitely.com:8002/Vertex/30/224/81

hop://osgrid.kitely.com:8002/Vertex/127/126/178

Then, standing at the centre of the platform, repeatedly use the gth (go to height) command in local chat with the following numbers.
  • For the stations with 81 at the end of their hop address:
    275, 469, 663, 857, 1051, 1245, 1439, 1633, 1827, 2021, 2215, 2409, 2603, 2797
  • For the station with 178 at the end of the hop address:
    372, 566, 760, 954, 1148, 1342, 1536, 1730, 1924, 2118, 2312, 2506, 2700, 2894
So, for example, to get to a level 2 station, you would type the following in local chat for a station with an address ending in 81:

Code: Select all

gth 275
Note that I am still putting stations into place -- I've got to level 11 so far (all heights below 2200). But the numbers above should work for the higher stations as well.

While there, please check that the non-phantom floor prim is not linked with the invisible wall prims. If it is still linked, please copy the URL from the map, and paste it here so that I may correct it. This is just in case I missed any. Thanks!
======================

Edited to add that I have now put in all 15 layers, so 75 stations altogether. Marstol found one cube that was still linked (thanks, Marstol). If anyone finds any others, please let me know.

Dennis has supplied a new texture for his starfield, filled with delicate bluish stars. To see it, visit:

Wow. Dot's working her virtual hiney off! Really liked the blue star field Dennis made. Very relaxing and seems to have lots of depth.

The revised version is about complete. The mentors meeting on Wednesday narrowed the choice of starspheres to two (Starscapes 1 and 3). Since all those at the end of the meeting were reasonably happy with both, Oren and Ilan then chose the one they thought best suited their purposes for the transfer station (Starscape 1).

I've copied the starsphere into place in all 75 stations, and set the terrain to 0 m as requested.

Now to check all is well...

And thank you Ilan for bringing us Kitely in the first place. Its definitely a best of in my opinion. The vertex is working great, and its a great introduction to some very nice builds.
